Corinne Visits San Francisco Decorator Showcase!

Corinne and her daughter Sloane (an architect and now project manager for Swinerton Builders in San Francisco) were wowed this May while visiting the San Francisco Decorator Showcase Home - this year at 3800 Washington Street, "Le Petit Trianon", in Presidio Heights, a short walk from Sloane's apartment.

Showcase homes are a great way to see fresh, current and imaginative designs, where multiple designers each design their own rooms in the home. This event benefits the financial aid program of San Francisco University High School.

The wallpaper in the "Shangri-La" master bathroom transports you...it is De Gournay wallpaper, which has been around for a long time but is lately having a huge moment in the sun. We loved the airy, delicate sconces astride the mirrors, the floating vanity with watery blue glass vessel sinks, the glamorous soaking tub, and the herringbone patterned hardwood floors with the antique rug.

In showcase homes, designers use materials and colors in unexpected ways to stretch the imagination. Wall and ceiling treatments abound, as do unusual chandeliers. The back-lit wine wall design (above) was a treat.

Corinne was entranced by two young girls that went through the house taking notes and photos of their favorite details. These future designers were enthralled!

Loved the pair of angled, mirrored glass coffee tables (below) that stretch across the whole grouping. And, check out the ultra high gloss shine on the ceiling in the sitting room with the chartreuse tufted love seats (below, left). The black and white domed ceiling (lowest right) caught everyone's eyes.

All in all, an utter delight!

Brown Design Group looks forward to hearing how you were inspired by nature on your travels this past summer season as we turn towards autumn.
